Democrats need to get those numbers up and get people to actually VOTE….
Michelle Obama is joining forces with big-name stars — including Tom Hanks, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Janelle Monae, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill — in a public service announcement to promote a get-out-the-vote push.
“If we really want our voices to be heard, we need to vote in every election. Not just for president, but for every office: school board, state house, Senate — all of them,” the former first lady tells “Hamilton” creator Miranda in a video released Thursday to launch a new non-profit organization and initiative called “When we all Vote.”
The initiative from the non-partisan organization aims to “start a conversation on the responsibilities that we all have in shaping our country’s future through the ballot box.”
Among the famous faces to appear in the video alongside Obama is basketball pro Chris Paul.
“There’s no off-season for getting out the vote,” the Houston Rockets player says.
“Four million Americans turn 18 this year,” says “Yoga” singer Monae, “And we need every last one of them to register and vote. Because let’s be real: it’s going to be the young people of this generation that will change this world.”
“When we vote, we prove that we are a democracy. We’re a government of the people and by the people,” Hanks says into the camera…..
