Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner (R) “this year reported a profit from a private equity fund that owns a health care group servicing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detention centers, including facilities that hold immigrant families with children,” Politico reports.
“In his most recent statement of economic interests, the multi-millionaire Illinois Republican governor disclosed earnings from a fund that owns Correct Care Solutions, a for-profit health care provider that has millions of dollars in government contracts with jails and prisons across the country, including immigrant detention centers.”
Disgusting! And this is the man who can’t even say he would vote for a Nazi over an incumbent Democratic Congressman.
Correction: would vote for a Democrat over a Nazi.

Actually this story hasn’t been “debunked.” There are still questions as to how much money Rauner is making from this company.
It’s also unclear how much the Governor knew about this company’s reputation. (Hint, it’s not very good.).
Perhaps he should hold a press conference and clear this up.

…’In a state ethics disclosure this year, Rauner listed stakes in dozens of companies, including private equity funds managed by his former company, GTCR. One of those GTCR funds co-owns Correct Care Solutions along with two other private equity funds and other investors.
After becoming Illinois governor, Rauner in 2015 pledged to follow what he called “blind trust” procedures for his investments. He handed over control of his wealth to an investment adviser, but still can consult with the adviser. It is unknown how much influence Rauner might have over Correct Care Solutions….
