Democratic House member Joe Crowley lost to a Democratic Socialist novice, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old…
His problem?
All politics IS local…
He didn’t leave Washington behind to campaign at home….
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a 28-year-old Latina running her first campaign, ousted 10-term incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley in New York’s 14th congressional district, CNN projects, in the most shocking upset of a rollicking political season.
UPSET: 28-year-old Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez beat New York Rep. Joe Crowley, one of the highest-ranking Democrats in Congress, in the first defeat of a Democratic incumbent this primary season.

Massive win for the Bernie-wing of the Party.
It is also true that Joe Crowley woke up this morning believing he would be Speaker of the House in a few months.

Like the header on this post reports….
This IS gonna be a media ‘herding’ story…..
THE GUY DID NOT CAMPAIGN
CG says
He definitely took the challenge for granted and arrogantly laughed her off, but this cannot be described as “all politics is local” any more than Eric Cantor’s loss was. These are basically the same situation.
The party activists, who tend to dominate primaries, are fed up with the “Establishment Leadership” and are intent on sending a message. This will embolden left-wing activists in other states, just like the Tea Party was emboldened in recent cycles. Cantor was a reliable conservative. Crowley is a staunch liberal. It doesn’t matter. This is also another sign that someone like Joe Biden stands very little chance of surviving a primary process in today’s Democrat Party, if he were to run.

Darn CG….
You’re on roll!…
I agree with your 10:50 PM

So you agree that Biden has little chance at winning the nomination James?
After you’ve been boosting him here for the past year or so?
Hell, you’re so eager to “agree” with CG of late, you Totally contradict yourself just for the sake of doing so.
Now, if CGs thesis is correct ,which you “agree” with, then why did the Republicans after the Tea Party “wave” nomnate the thoroughly establishment Mitt Romney a couple of of years later?

Biden is a good guy and I will vote for him if he gets the nomination, but (despite his poll numbers) I don’t see Biden winning the Democratic nomination either. Recall how he miserably failed in his other presidential runs. There are other candidates who can elicit more enthusiasm than Biden. If Democrats do select a moderate, then I would prefer Gillebrand.

I don’t think Biden will run, he will opt out after the mid-terms.
I think the death of his son took the fire out of him.
He is one of the greatest men in public service that I have ever met.

My feeling is the ole’ Joe Biden WOULD be the best choice for the Democratic nomination and the next BEST American President…
Until I see someone who has the experience, flamboyance, ability to get the Obama /NOT Hillary vote back and leads in the Democratic voters polling for the spot?
He’s MY choice….

The Bernie backed Ben Jealous wins MD Gubernatorial primary.
