Another thing Donald Trump THOUGHT he had ?
That appears to be NOT be what he thought…..
Trump hasn’t finished too good since moving to the nation’s White House…
Most of us believe that the North Korean leader will NEVER give up his nukes…
U.S. intelligence agencies believe that North Korea has increased its production of fuel for nuclear weapons at multiple secret sites in recent months — and that Kim Jong Un may try to hide those facilities as he seeks more concessions in nuclear talks with the Trump administration, U.S. officials told NBC News.
The intelligence assessment, which has not previously been reported, seems to counter the sentiments expressed by President Donald Trump, who tweeted after his historic June 12 summit with Kim that “there was no longer a nuclear threat from North Korea.”
Analysts at the CIA and other intelligence agencies don’t see it that way, according to more than a dozen American officials who are familiar with their assessments and spoke on the condition of anonymity. They see a regime positioning itself to extract every concession it can from the Trump administration — while clinging to nuclear weapons it believes are essential to survival.
The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment…..

So much for a Donald Trump being a great negotiator. The North Korean dictator got good photo ops and quotes from Trump that will help maintain his autocratic rule. The US got absolutely nothing (although I think they sent what was left of a dead soldier). As Ttump might say “Worst deal in history”. And in this case, you could at least make that argument.

Like his casino’s, airline, meat business and school?
The guy trades in failure…
No Nobel Peace prize looks like, eh?

Republicans still think he is a great negotiator.Indeed,as I believe Zreebs pointed out last week, Republicans have a positive view of this savage than Nancy Pelosi.
Their hatred of Pelosi is well known;however, they show their obsequious, cult like behavior when they indicate their approval of this murderer brcuase their own “dear leader” praises him.
Sad for the Republican Party and sad for the country.

George W. Bush, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, John Bolton, Paul Wolfowitz, Doug Feith and a host of others started an unnecessary (or at least premature) and essentially-unilateral war with Iraq which has not only established Iranian primacy over Iraq, but laid the foundation for a Khamenei bloc from Iran to the Lebanon.
Donald Trump and John Bolton have torn up the multilateral sanctions and diplomatic agreements that controlled nuclear development in both Iran and North Korea (also the false casus belli of Operaton Iraqi Freedom).
Are America and the world safer because of “strong” Republican administrations ?
jamesb says
Nope….
And those fool’s have NOT made America or the World safer either …….

NEWS ANALYSIS
President Trump, Deal Maker? Not So Fast
By Peter Baker
June 22, 2018
WASHINGTON — President Trump likes nothing more than presenting himself as the ultimate deal maker, the master negotiator who can translate his success in business into the worlds of politics, policy and diplomacy. “That’s what I do, is deals,” he said one day last month.
Except that so far he has not. As he threw in the towel on immigration legislation on Friday, saying that Republicans should give up even trying until after the fall midterm elections, Mr. Trump once again fell short of his promise to make “beautiful” deals that no other president could make.
His 17 months in office have in fact been an exercise in futility for the art-of-the-deal president. No deal on immigration. No deal on health care. No deal on gun control. No deal on spending cuts. No deal on Nafta. No deal on China trade. No deal on steel and aluminum imports. No deal on Middle East peace. No deal on the Qatar blockade. No deal on Syria. No deal on Russia. No deal on Iran. No deal on climate change. No deal on Pacific trade.
Even routine deals sometimes elude Mr. Trump, or he chooses to blow them up. After a Group of 7 summit meeting this month with the world’s leading economic powers, Mr. Trump, expressing pique at Canada’s prime minister, refused to sign the carefully negotiated communiqué that his own team had agreed to. It was the sort of boilerplate agreement that every previous president had made over four decades.
“Trump is an anarchist,” said Jack O’Donnell, a former president of the Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, who became a sharp critic. “It was his approach in business, it is his approach as president. It does not take good negotiating skills to cause chaos. Will this ever lead to concessions? Maybe, but concessions to what? Not anything that resembles a deal. I just do not see him getting much done.”
Ultimately, his advisers said, his hard-line positions that for now have left him at an impasse with negotiating partners should pay off in ways that did not for presidents like Barack Obama and George W. Bush. “I don’t think it’s that counterintuitive to say that playing hardball will lead to better trade deals eventually,” said Andy Surabian, a Republican strategist and former aide to Mr. Trump….

With the full support of the Republican Party.
Unlike some here, I’m not playing this “game” that the poor Republicans aren’t responsible for this creep.
They are Fully responsible and should be held to account .
His support among them is now approaching 90% (despite pathetic efforts here to claim otherwise).Except for a few(and many of them have either openly left the Republican Party or are openly advocating a Democratic victory to hopefully cleanse their party of this stain) ,his antics lies, and often violent bombast is met with either open approval or a disturbing silence from Republican officeholders and leaders.
Let the whataboutisms and the excuses begin!

The Trump folks will try to ignore this as long as they can, and then they will demand proof of the expanding nuclear program, while they continue to praise the deal making prowess of their Great Leader.
Even equally disturbing are the on-going plans for the Pentagon to pull our troops out of Germany. I wonder who might have suggested that move to the Great Leader. Putin’s investment is paying off big time.
Elections have consequences, and we are only beginning to see what can happen when there is a narcissistic madman in the White House.
But, of course, Hillary would have started WWIII.
jamesb says
The Germany pull out is NOT from the Pentagon..
Like some in the Bush II admin
Trump has questioned the purpose of American troops in German ignorant of the policy that a land grab like in Crimea could occur in Germany or against other East European countries…..
Of course Trump wouldn’t give a shit if Putin rolled up Europe as long as he and Putin could be buddies and Mueller would go away empty handed ….

I asked our friend Corey the other day Jack if he was going to follow the George Will suggestion and vote for the Democrats to counter the Trump Presidency, and he refuses.
Gave a hard to follow answer that he won’t be voting for Democrats (because Illinois is so blue) and will only vote for Republicans who didn’t support Trump (not sure how he would determine what Republican was sufficiently anti-Trump to merit his support?).
But he will maintain his record of never voting for a Democrat for Federal or State office. And we’re the tribalists.
My Name Is Jack says
Yeah I saw that.
Also, his definition of Republicans who supposedly “oppose” Trump often lacks any real evidence of such.Apparently,If a Republican makes some minor remark indicating a disagreement with Trump, often without even mentioning his name,or doesn’t say anything about him, then he/she is considered anti Trump in his view.
An example of this is Arizona Senate candidate Martha McSally who, while making some anti Trump noise in 2016 ,has remade herself as a born again Trumpist.CG apparently wants to ignore her newfound support for the party leader and latch on to her old comments as indicative of her “real” feelings.
