And THAT is one of the reasons his chances of being a Democratic nomineee for President are remote ….
The guy really doesn’t like the party….
If you read the linked piece below you find a guy who would like the party to move to what he thinks it should be so he could lead it to become President….
Sound familiar?
Bernie Sanders was the runner-up for the Democratic nomination to be president in 2016, and he’s considering another try in 2020, but the Vermont senator remains adamant that he will not become a member of the party.
Sanders criticized Democratic National Committee Chairman Tom Perez on Wednesday for endorsing New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo over primary challenger Cynthia Nixon. He said this sort of interference by party bosses makes it harder to trust that progressives will get a fair shake in 2020.
That was the biggest news from Bernie’s Daily 202 Live interview, but he uncorked a more systemic critique of the Democratic Party during our hour-long conversation that underscored the festering tensions between many grass-roots activists and the establishment. In a word, it kept coming back to money….

Of course Sanders would like to make the Democratic Party in his own image. Why is that unusual or the slightest bit surprising. All of us would prefer that the Democratic Party (and for that matter the GOP too) to be more like us. Wouldn’t you prefer that the party had fewer “leftists”?
The fact that Sanders wants to run as an independent actually appeals to me rather than turn me off.

Good point Z
Yea we would like the parties to be more to our liking
But parties need to embrace YUGE amounts ofof different people
Which is good
Sanders isn’t willing to accept that?

That Sanders remains an “Independent” while caucusing with the Democrats and running for President as a Democrat is interesting to me. But doesn’t make me think any more or less of him.
jamesb says
I do…
It hurts him with Democrats like myself
Zreebs says
Yes, but you are the only one I know that feels that way. It certainly hasn’t hurt him in Vermont. Sanders is arguably the most popular senator in his home state in the country.

Sanders endorsement’s haven’t broken any records…
The guy lost in 2016
His choice for the DNC chair is leaving Congress
He won’t give the DNC his mailing list
Seriously Z?
jamesb says
If he’s such a independent guy
Why doesn’t he run as one , or as a socialist?
Or form his own party?
Zreebs says
Is that what you would want? If so, we might have over-estimated your intelligence.
