President Donald Trump said Sunday he has instructed his Commerce Department to help get a Chinese telecommunications company “back into business” after the U.S. government cut off access to its American suppliers.

At issue is that department’s move last month to block the ZTE Corp., a major supplier of telecoms networks and smartphones based in southern China, from importing American components for seven years. The U.S. accused ZTE of misleading American regulators after it settled charges of violating sanctions against North Korea and Iran.

ZTE, which has more than 70,000 employees and has supplied networks or equipment to some of the world’s biggest telecoms companies, said in early May that it had halted its main operations as a result of the department’s “denial order.”

Trump, who has taken a hard line on trade and technology issues with Beijing, tweeted on Sunday that he and Chinese leader Xi Jinping “are working together to give massive Chinese phone company, ZTE, a way to get back into business, fast. Too many jobs in China lost. Commerce Department has been instructed to get it done!”….

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said Sunday that the United States will need to “provide security assurances” to North Korea’s Kim Jong Un if the adversaries are to reach a nuclear deal, describing the stakes of President Donald Trump’s upcoming summit with Kim.

Pompeo met with Kim last week in North Korea, helping set the stage for Trump’s historic summit with the North Korean leader in Singapore on June 12.

Trump’s goal is for North Korea to get rid of its nuclear weapons in a permanent and verifiable way. In return, the U.S. is willing to help the impoverished nation strengthen its economy….

Donald Trump is prepared to impose sanctions on European companies that do business in Iran following his withdrawal of the US from the international nuclear deal, his administration reiterated on Sunday.

Trump’s most senior foreign policy aides signalled that the US would continue pressuring allies to follow Washington in backing out of the pact, which gave Tehran relief from sanctions in exchange for halting its nuclear programme.

John Bolton, Trump’s national security adviser, predicted that “the Europeans will see that it’s in their interests to come along with us” rather than continue with the 2015 deal, under which major European corporations have signed billions of dollars of contracts in Iran…..

All of this IS a CLEAR signal to Iran from the Trump Foreign Relations team that now seems to be centered on Sec of State Pompeo and National Sec advisor Bolton….

Rex Tillerson’s fumbles are far gone….

Be advised?….Donald Trump’s policy moves will see engagement with those countries that Republicans and Conservatives would have NEVER embraced in the past….Trump & Co. are using the threat of military action to bring those countries to the table and deal in economic muscle for cooperation in help American get an economic stake… and payback….

Syria has seen the Israeli’s step forward with militatyry strikes that will target Iranian military assets in the country…….

American troop levels have been erased for the current Pentagon reports …..

It appears that the US is quietly increasing it’s troop levels (And causalities) in Iraq , Afghanistan and even Syria despite Trump’s view that any action in the region is a waste…

 

After 17 years of expansive efforts in the region?….American military leaders feel that a smaller American military foot print is a prelude to a reengagement in the region AGAIN …..

It appears Defense Sec Mattis has been moving to bolster up the ‘boots on the ground’ that President Obama had been working hard to withdraw…..Congress has provided the Us military with even more money than they asked for…..
