Trump has had it in for Jeff Bezos who owns the Washington Post , whihc has been reporting about Trump and his woe’s….
Jeff Bezos made his riches from Amazon, the largest e-commerce company in America….Amazon ships most of its packages by the US Postal Service which makes a LOT of money in the process….
But for Trump?
It’s about somebody being on his case….And what he cxan do about hurting that person…
President Trump has personally pushed U.S. Postmaster General Megan Brennan to double the rate the Postal Service charges Amazon.com and other firms to ship packages… a dramatic move that probably would cost these companies billions of dollars,” the Washington Post reports.
“Brennan has so far resisted Trump’s demand, explaining in multiple conversations occurring this year and last that these arrangements are bound by contracts and must be reviewed by a regulatory commission… She has told the president that the Amazon relationship is beneficial for the Postal Service and gave him a set of slides that showed the variety of companies, in addition to Amazon, that also partner for deliveries.”….

For better or worse, the idea of removing the Postmaster-General from the Cabinet (and direct Presidential control), and changing the Post Office Department into the Postal Services Corporation, with its own Board of Governors, was to remove postal delivery from political interference, such as choosing local postmasters for political rather than professional reasons.

The Leader of the so called”pro free enterprise “ party singles out a private company for punishment by agovernment agency?
Where is the outrage from the “believers” in “free enterprise?”

Trump keeps screwing people and they lay down and take it.….

What Jack wrote is exactly the reason that liberals and progressives support (or at least should support) , within reason, the Fifth Amendment’s last clause:
nor shall private property be taken for public use without just compensation.
If it can happen to Amazon, or for that matter Hobby Lobby or Murdoch’s empire, then who be safe from some government entity either present or future ?
Which is why the ACLU and the NAACP Legal Defense & Education Fund found themselves on the same (losing) side as the Koch Bros’ Cato Institute in Kelo v New London. Also why libertarians and liberals both oppose arbitrary civil forfeitures in criminal cases.

Eminent domain….
Eminent domain (United States, Philippines), land acquisition (Singapore), compulsory purchase (United Kingdom, New Zealand, Ireland), resumption (Hong Kong, Uganda), resumption/compulsory acquisition (Australia), or expropriation (France, Italy, Mexico, South Africa, Canada, Brazil, Portugal, Spain, Chile, Denmark, Sweden) is the power of a state, provincial, or national government to take private property for public use. However, this power can be legislatively delegated by the state to municipalities, government subdivisions, or even to private persons or corporations, when they are authorized by the legislature to exercise the functions of public character.[1]….
…
Please note....The former owners of the property rarely receive full market value because some elements of value are deemed noncompensable in eminent domain law…..
