Ok…
The American President got played….
North Korea is NEVER gonna give up its nukes even as it shows how it’s destrying a test lovation and closing tunnels to the South….
The letter to the North Korean leader is pure Trump….
My stuff is bigger and better than yours…
Donald Trump has cancelled his planned summit with the North Korean leader, Kim Jong-un, blaming his decision on a threatening statement from the Pyongyang regime.
In a formal letter to Kim released by the White House, Trump said he had been “very much looking forward” to the summit in Singapore on June 12.
But he wrote: “Sadly, based on the tremendous anger and open hostility displayed in your most recent statement, I feel it is inappropriate, at this time, to have this long-planned meeting.”
Trump declared that the meeting would not take place “for the good of both parties, but to the detriment of the world….
Note…
I guess Trump ain’t gonna get a Nobel Peace Prize on this one , eh?
The man isn’t doing too good ‘winging it’ in the Foreign Policy field ….
jamesb says
It appears that Trump didn’t bother to give South Korea a ‘heads up’ on his cancellation move…The South leaders have asked for WTF does Trump mean and will do next…
jamesb says
Trump/Kim Summit medallions just went up in value or not?
jamesb says
The market drops….
Democratic Socialist Dave says
Any idea what I should tell the UPS driver double-parked outside who says something about having a Nobel Peace Prize to deliver to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue ??
jamesb says
He can take it back…..
jamesb says
Even if the big guy with the ‘do’ starts crying….
CG says
Tell him on his way back, he should swing by and pick up the one that Obama did not deserve as well.
jamesb says
Can’t do that
It was delivered TO Obama already….
Stays even if Trump fucks up on Iran….
CG says
The Nobel Committee admits they made a mistake in 2009 by awarding it to him.
jamesb says
Ok
Barack H. Obama HAS the award and was awarded the money that goes with it….
Trump ain’t Got one
That simple
jamesb says
He, he
It must burn Trump’s ass on that
CG says
Neither deserve it.
At least Obama was embarrassed enough to sorta admit he didn’t deserve it and gave the money to charity.
jamesb says
Nevertheless?
Obama HAS one
Trump does NOT😃
CG says
Are you that much of a pom-pom boy?
You know what else Obama has that Trump does not have?
Obama’s virtual third term was rejected necessitating him turning the White House over to someone as loathsome as Trump.
Whomever one day replaces Trump can’t be as embarrassing for the outgoing.
jamesb says
No
A good amount of President Obama’s stuff is right there….
ObamaCare to name one….
Furthermore a majority of Americans would gladly vote him back into office if that was possible
Not good trying to compare them CG
Obama gets the nod
HNds Down
Zreebs says
My understanding is that the Nobel Committee thought that the prize would strengthen Obama – which it clearly did not do. If you have different info on this, I will read it.
CG says
Well, they gave it to him in 2009 because they thought he demonstrated the “potential” for peace.
Nonetheless he was a war President and for the most part sure acted like it. A lot of people were killed by drones around the world on his order after he received this prize and the major theme of his reelection campaign was basically the non-ceasing bragging about how he ordered the death of a specific terrorist.
jamesb says
Obama was able to orchestrate the elimination of someone Bush I and II had been after for a long TIME….
Now you CG are saying that wasn’t a good accomplishment?….
Zreebs says
No one on the Nobel committee shed a tear for Bin Laden. It is s stestch to say Obama was a war president. Republican criticized him for not goung to war faster in Syria and for partially getting out of Iraq & Afghanistan.
CG says
Show me any poll that shows “a majority of Americans” would vote Obama back in office.
Back up what you say for once.
My Name Is Jack says
Who would you prefer?
CG says
Neither obviously
Zreebs says

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/why-americans-like-obama-so-much-better-than-trump/
CG says
People saying they think he is a better President than Trump is a far different question from “a majority” saying they would vote him into office for a third term against him or anyone else.
My Name Is Jack says
You’re splitting hairs .
I’m not surprised.
CG says
That’s because I am smart about these things and accurate. It doesn’t surprise me about myself either.
Words matter and james often states things that have no basis in fact and cannot be proven, as you often point out yourself.
CG says
I did find james saying this sort of odd for specific reason because it flies in the face of his “Rudy Giuliani couldn’t get elected to a third term so that means nobody wanted him” theory.
The same would have to apply for Obama then.
My theory is that while Rudy Giuliani was very popular upon leaving office and that Obama could likely have beat Trump (and Reagan would have beaten Dukakis) that the American people tend to understand the concept of term limits and want them abided to, especially in places where they are already in effect.
jamesb says
Rudy was NOT that popular when Mike Bloomberg proceeded him…
Again….
Rudy TRIED to get a third term…
They said NO….
Note….
…for New Yorkers themselves, the Giuliani on Sept. 10, 2001, was a complicated figure, reports CBS News senior political correspondent Jeff Greenfield. More than half approved of the job he’d done, and the sense of a safer, cleaner city was widespread. But on the other hand:
“I think New Yorkers were exhausted by Rudy Giuliani by that day,” says Andrew Kirtzman, a former city hall reporter who covered the mayor throughout his tenure….
(CG?…To outsiders ?…Rudy was the SHIT…But New York had grown tired of the guy….I know…I saw this first hand….You didn’t…
CG says
And you are excluding post 9/11 of course.
jamesb says
Please READ the linked piece….
Rudy got a bump from 9/11…
But he ,like Trump?
Fucked it up….
CG says
When Giuliani left office as Mayor, his approval numbers were around 80 percent in the city. He would have easily won a third term had he been allowed to run.
james, I cannot speak to you anymore besides maybe a hello or so. I would just feel like a huge jerk if I were to respond to you on anything substantive. There is something going on with you that seems to be getting worse in terms of comprehension. I just wish you the best.
jamesb says
Key point?
AFTER…..
jamesb says
Well CG?
It’s your keyboard…
I lived thru 9/11 on Long Island next to NYC…
I saw a mean spirited , bigoted, egomatic man burn thru good will and wives….You didn’t….
Rudy Giuliani is the same person the linked piece points to….
He isn’t much different today…
I’m NOT buying anything different…
As the the piece points out even GOPer’s had had enough of him after 9/11….
Maybe you might take the time to read ANOTHER piece on the guy in Politico if you think I’m off base?…..
Rudy up close isn’t what you think CG…..
Zreebs says
No one here thinks that Guliani is making a particularly good impression today, but that is a different issue from whether he would have won election in 2001 – if he were eligible to run. New Yorkers probably did tire of Guliani pre 9/11, but the political environment changed after that date, I don’t think anyone is disputing that, Guliani’s national image probably did improve substantially more than his local image after 9/11.
Zreebs says
Maybe you and I could agree with this wording: Reagan, Guliani and Obama would each likely have won a third term if they were clearly allowed to run
jamesb says
Reagan and Obama I would agree with…..
Rudy?
I doubt…
Zreebs says
of the three, I feel most certain that Guliani would have been re-elected.
My Name Is Jack says
James doesn’t have reading comprehension?
Sort of a well known fact….
Of course Rudy would have won if he had run again.
That’s not even an arguable point.
jamesb says
CG?
I stand by my comment….
Barack H. Obama would BEAT Donald Trump EASILY if their was a contest ….
jamesb says
Poll showing Obama wanted as President MORE than Trump…
My Name Is Jack says
Oh I think you would prefer Trump.
While finding him personally repugnant, you agree with him on most issues, excepting immigration and tariffs.
You agreed with Obama on almost nothing .
CG says
No, I would prefer neither and would vote for neither for any and all offices.
But it’s not a real “choice.” One of them is Constitutionally ineligible to be President for one thing.
It’s bad enough there was a real “choice” between Trump and Clinton that I had to find a highway off of.
Here is the analogy I used at the time though-
I said if I had a gun to my head and I was told that and I alone would have to pick between them to be President and only I alone could make the choice for the country, with a gun to my head, I would have picked Hillary.
Then, I would have asked them to pull the trigger.
My Name Is Jack says
Haha!
At least we see you haven’t committed suicide yet !
Democratic Socialist Dave says
From watching PBS News Hour tonight — no doubt I’d get an utterly-different picture from Fox News — it seems clear to me that the gratuitous (and irrelevant) references to the “Libyan model” by Amb. John Bolton on Sunday and VP Mike Pence Tuesday had much to do with North Korea suddenly turning cold on the summit.
And I think there was some kind of intent on the part of John Bolton, because the National Security Advisor appeared on at least two Sunday-morning talk shows: in fact I thought I was seeing stereo when I flipped at 9 a.m,. (EDT) between Jake Tapper’s Stare of the Union on CNN and Martha Raddatz’s This Morning on ABC; while at least one interview had to have been pre-recorded, it’s possible that the other was live.
For a régime whose main concern in self-preservation, the last thing you want to have raised is giving up all your nuclear leverage and then being lynched and killed in a ditch. (No matter how deservingly or undeservingly — in fact, the guiltier one is, the more frightening such a prospect might be.)
The question is why (unless you feel continued military confrontation and isolation will yield better results than successful negotiations) raise this precedent in the first place.
My Name Is Jack says
Apparently China was none too keen on this Summit.
jamesb says
No China wasn’t happy about Donald Trump strutting into their area of influence and possibly working a deal….
No China isn’t happy about Trump trying to leverage tariffs on their exports either….
Again…
This is PURE Trump coming HARD at things…..
Trampling all over everything, with no regard, to get what HE WANTS and can Crow about….
The same thing is going on with the EU and Iran….
We’ll see how the other leaders deal with this….
jamesb says
Good Anaylasis DSD….
Trump, if your points dawned on him?….Should be aware that his OWN hardliners are hurting his chances of getting deals across the board….
Of course going hard in the begging to try set things up is about the ONLY way Trump goes at things….
Ooooops!
Is THAT the reason a lot of things he tries turns to shit?
Democratic Socialist Dave says
(1) Of course, Trump himself made some tactless remarks about the Libyan precedent (perhaps in answering a reporter’s specific question);
(2) China likes using North Korea as a cat’s paw to scare South Korea, Japan and the U.S. The last thing they want is régime change in the DPRK and a flood of starving, destitute North Korean refugees crossing the Yalu.
(I think the people on either side share some ethnic ties, so this would also scare the obsessively-Sinifying Great Han Chinese rulers of the PRC in the same way that other cross-border groups like the Tibetans, Uighurs, Mongols, Siberians and ethnic Indochinese do.)
jamesb says
Breaking…..
After much begging and offerings to give up shit and a acceptance of North Korea NOT looking to give up their nukes?
Donald Trump gets his sit down with Kim resurrected….
CG says
He sat down with Kim yesterday…
Kardashian.
A vapid reality star figure was in the Oval Office. Imagine that. Kim Kardashian was there was well.
jamesb says
Like I have said about this….
Trump got rolled…
And will probably get rolled again….
