What a wonderful glorus moment…..
The 44th President of the United States….
The first Black/Mixed Race President…..
The acknowledgement that America got past race to make it’s elected leader something America was increasing turning to……
Barack Hussein Obama was elected the 44th president of the United States on Tuesday, sweeping away the last racial barrier in American politics with ease as the country chose him as its first black chief executive.
Mr. Obama’s election amounted to a national catharsis — a repudiation of a historically unpopular Republican president and his economic and foreign policies, and an embrace of Mr. Obama’s call for a change in the direction and the tone of the country. But it was just as much a strikingly symbolic moment in the evolution of the nation’s fraught racial history, a breakthrough that would have seemed unthinkable just two years ago.
Mr. Obama, 47, a first-term Democratic senator from Illinois, defeated Senator John McCain, Republican of Arizona, a former prisoner of war who was making his second bid for the presidency.
Mr. McCain offered a gracious concession speech at the Biltmore Hotel in Phoenix shortly after 11:15 p.m. Eastern time, quieting his booing supporters more than once when he mentioned Mr. Obama’s name. “Senator Obama has achieved a great thing for himself, and for his country,” he said, adding that he was sorry that Mr. Obama’s grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, who helped raise him during his teenage years, had not lived to see the day; she died on Sunday.
“These are difficult times for our country, and I pledged to him tonight to do all in my power to help him lead us through the many challenges we face,” Mr. McCain said. “I urge all Americans who supported me to join me in not just congratulating him, but offering our next president our goodwill and earnest effort to find ways to come together.”
To the very end, Mr. McCain’s campaign was eclipsed by an opponent who was nothing short of a phenomenon, drawing huge crowds epitomized by the tens of thousands of people who turned out to hear Mr. Obama’s victory speech in Grant Park in Chicago.
Mr. McCain also fought the headwinds of a relentlessly hostile political environment, weighted down with the baggage left to him by President Bush and an economic collapse that took place in the middle of the general election campaign.
The day shimmered with history as voters began lining up before dark — hours before polls opened — to take part in the culmination of a campaign that, over the course of two years, commanded an extraordinary amount of attention from the American public…..
For the second Barack Hussien Obama won?
Something was to begin to fester…..
A fear was cast into those who where NOT the color’s of the rainbow….
Those who moved away from raising numbers of Americans who where NOT of same color as the man who would be their President for eight years…
Those who where afraid of a new America that was marching along in the early years of the 21st Century….
Standing in the shawdows as those who had be ostacized, discriminated against, hunted down, and related to second class citizenship cheered and celebrated?
They hunkered down and began to plot their take back of the country….
They would work hard to put their thumb on ANYTHING that had President Obama’s fingerprints on it….
They would fight a healthcare program that would benefit the very poor whites that where scared of the new black leader that wanted to help ALL Americans, not just ones of color…
They would oppose a President Obama that would spend much of his moments on the job fighting to help America and the world gain economic health after a possible economic disaster…
He would bring the troops home…
He would make America Great agin in the eyes of the World….
The elction and re-election of Barack Hussein Obama would plant the seeds of the election of rich white Real Estate guy form New York City….(Trump STILL can’t get over the bigger crowds for Obama)
A guy who would conquer and adopt a political parties supporters willingly and it’s leadership begrudgingly in order that they take America back…..
Nevermind that Donald J. Trump was a huckster that is secretive….
Nevermind that he is making money off the America public while being office….
Nevermind that he started of and continues to distain advice form those who have knowledge of how government and foreign affairs work….
The guy operates in his own Alternate Reality….
President Barack Obama read to a certain portion of white America as an unending attack on white Christian identity, centrality and cultural relevance. In their minds, he was seeking to end their right to bear arms and the right of conservatives to speak freely.
For this group of Americans, Trump has been the corrective. As Ta-Nehisi Coates points out in his brilliant Atlantic essay, “The First White President,” for Trump’s supporters, his election was itself the point. Putting a human wrecking ball against political correctness, feminism, multiculturalism and even decency was the ballgame…..
Poll after poll reflect American’s support for President Obama and his times in office….
If he could run again?
He’d leave Donald Trump in his rea view mirror….
Those who voted for the guy who they felt would take America back?
Day by day get screwed by his choas, policy and the emeging knowledge that the guy can’t hold candle to the times of Obama, a President who wasn’t perfect, but was miles better that what we have now…..
