Some media stories are just plain stupid….
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell
Has announced he will NOT bring a Senate bill up for a vote that would protect Robert Mueller from being fired….
Why would he?
First of all there ain’t enough votes in the House or Senate to pass such a bill….
Second of all?
If such a bill WAS PASSED?
Trump would surely veto it….
So McConnell’s announcement isn’t a big deal
Nothing was gonna get to become a law anyways

Grassley pushing ahead w/ Mueller protection bill even though it may not come up in full Senate, said McConnell’s views “do not govern what happens here in the Judiciary Committee.”

Is there anyone here (maybe Keith) who knows U.S. Congressional procedure well enough to let us know if the Senate has a method similar to a discharge petition in the House of Representatives, which if signed by a majority of members (in the case of the House, 218 Representatives) forces a bill onto the floor ?
And does a discharge petition merely force a bill out of committee (with or without a report), or does it also force consideration, debate and a vote on the floor of the full House ?
