The accumulation revelations of his actions while in office have made confirmation impossible…
Trump had made in plain that Jackson had to drop out, Trump was not gonna pull his pick….
Jackson could very well lose his day job, as doctor to the President….
Navy Adm. Ronny Jackson on Thursday announced he is withdrawing as President Trump‘s nominee to lead the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) amid mounting accusations of misconduct.
In a lengthy statement, Jackson called the allegations “false and fabricated,” but said he is pulling out to allow Trump to move forward.
“Unfortunately, because of how Washington works, these false allegations have become a distraction for this president and the important issue we must be addressing – how we give the best care to our nation’s heroes,” he said…..

Anyone hear Trump’s rant on Fox and Friends this morning.
They eventually had to cut him off because he was getting too crazy. Too bad Congressional Republicans can’t seem to do the same.
Or Republucans in general.
Too bad Harry Reid told that one lie about Mitt Romney 6 yrs ago. That made Republican voters bad no choice than to support an unhinged racist liar for President.
Oh sure the vast majority of them never even heard what Reid said but it still set the scene and made Trump inevitable.
Man what a bunch of sanctimonious self serving Republican apologist horse shit CG was serving yeaterday.
Kudos to Jack for calling him out on it.
CG says
Sure, it was just “one” lie, and you were happy he did it.
In your mind, anything your side does is completely fair game.
Who is apologizing for Trump? Certainly not me. He just stole your own playbook.
jamesb says
I will try to post up the Trump rant
I heard he was yelling on the phone in front of the camera….
CG says
He wasn’t on camera.
I caught the last five minutes of it. It did sound like he was going to have a grabber. Hopefully, there is a sober White House physician somewhat close.
It seems like based on what he said he created some serious legal complications for Michael Cohen.
jamesb says
Yup…..
The BS that Cohen wasn’t his bag man is now gone…
CG says
No, he said that Cohen only did a fraction of legal work for him. So, that makes Cohen’s claim that everything seized should be protected by attorney/client privilege more difficult.
He also admitted that Cohen represented him in the “crazy Stormy Daniels matter” after claiming previously he was unaware of anything regarding it.
CG says
*If* these allegations against Jackson are true, (and he clearly has decided not to try to defend himself against them), he should have been fired by Barack Obama a long time.
*If* they are true, he should be fired by Trump now. These things reportedly happened though starting in Obama’s White House, and Obama effusively praised and promoted him.
I guess enough people in both Administrations might like the free “candy.”
My Name Is Jack says
Apparently during this rant, Trump said that he preferred popular vote to the Electoral College.
I wonder if that was a joke?
jamesb says
That’s on my list of posts to be done later
I’m sure he doesn’t know what the duck
He was talking about
Someone OS gonna point out to him that Hillary Would be in the White House MOT his tired ass…..
CG says
I did not hear this portion of the interview but the coverage of it is saying that he would have preferred the popular vote system because it would have been easier to win.
Whether you agree with him on that or not, (and just about nobody thought he would win the Electoral College), candidates would of course run under completely different strategies and plans if the goal was just to win the popular vote, so a hypothetical is just a hypothetical.
jamesb says
The knucklehead LOST the popular vote by almost 3 MILLION VOTES!
Again?
A guy still operating in a Alternate Universe
CG says
Ok, that’s not in dispute, but it has nothing to do with what he said.
We simply do not know what the result of an election between those two doofuses would have been if it was only popular vote from the start. They would have run very different campaigns. Trump would have been far less “visible” and it was when he was visible, that he typically got negative headlines.
jamesb says
Of corse we DO….
We just had one….
CG says
Logic eludes
scott says
Republicans have lost the popular vote in 6 of the last 7 presidential elections, therefore they like to discredit winning it or claim winning it is easy.
That was my takeaway.
My Name Is Jack says
Yes,mine too.
As to changing “strategies” as referenced above?
It is difficult to see how Trump could have an actual “strategy” based on his actions during the campaign and his presidency so far.Saying that he seems to operate on a strictly “ad hoc ” basis is even an understatement.
I don’t believe he would have campaigned any differently no matter what electoral system was in place. He simply lacks the self discipline to be guided by an actual strategy.
scott says
I agree. In fact I seem to recall that Trump held campaign rallies in safely red states just before the election.
Everyone just assumed he thought he would lose and was simply ginning up potential customers for his next venture.
That he so narrowly won three states to receive an electoral college victory was not due to any strategy as much as accident.
Now he can claim to be some political genius and discount winning the popular vote as requiring less skill. It is both self serving and fits the GOP narrative that the votes of Americans in places like NY and CA aren’t as valid.
CG says
No, in the final days, he was holding rallies in MI, WI, (and MN) and people were scoffing about how he was wasting his time in those places.
scott says
I do recall him holding rallies in red states that were never competitive.
Regardless I don’t think those rallies were strategic at all as I don’t think Trump and Co seriously thought they could win them.
It was about going to areas with a lot of older anxious white people he thought could be subscribers to Trump TV after he lost the election.
Then he went and won the damn thing by accident.
jamesb says
I agree….
To give Trump credit for strategically maneuvering a win IS stretching things quite a bit…
jamesb says
As expected….
Ronny Jackson will not return to his role as the president’s personal physician, two senior administration officials tell Politico….
